CollectionPlacement
Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
CollectionPlacement ("we", "us") runs collectionplacement.com, a free service that matches creditors with independent collection agencies and collection law firms. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you use our matching form, we collect what you enter:
- your name, company name and work email
- your phone number, if you choose to give it
- details about the debt: debt type, total amount owed (as a range), age of the debt, number of accounts, your or the debtor's state, and any notes you add
- the page you submitted the form from
When you ask us to email you a template, we collect your email address and which template you asked for.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
When you browse the site, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring page to deliver and secure the site. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it handles this data.
Please don't send us sensitive personal data, such as Social Security numbers, health information or account-level debtor details, through the form or by email.
How we use your information
- to review your request and introduce you to collection agencies or law firms that may fit
- to contact you about your request, including by email or phone if you gave a number
- to email you a template you asked for, and to send occasional emails about collections (every email includes an unsubscribe link)
- to run, secure and improve the site, including preventing spam
Who we share it with
- Matched collection agencies and law firms. When you submit the matching form, we share your details with the agencies or law firms we introduce you to, so they can contact you about your accounts. They are independent businesses, and their use of your information is governed by their own policies.
- Service providers. We use Cloudflare to host and secure the site, process form submissions and store submissions in a Cloudflare D1 database. We also use email to receive and respond to requests.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We don't sell personal information to data brokers or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. When you submit the matching form, you direct us to disclose your details to the agencies or law firms we introduce you to. Some of those partners pay us a referral fee. We make that disclosure at your direction, and we don't disclose your details to anyone else for payment.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we need to keep them longer to comply with the law or resolve disputes. Template-request emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Opt out. You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you or to stop sharing your details for new introductions. Email us or reply to any message from us.
- Access, correction and deletion. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll delete it from our records unless we need to keep it to comply with the law, resolve disputes or complete a transaction you requested. Agencies or law firms we already introduced you to hold their own copies, so contact them directly too.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
California residents (CCPA and CalOPPA)
If you live in California, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we've collected about you and how we've used and disclosed it, to delete it, or to correct it. We won't discriminate against you for making a request.
Do Not Track. Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for responding to it, so the site doesn't change its behavior when it receives one. We don't run third-party advertising trackers. We don't allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across other sites through our site, except Cloudflare as our hosting provider, as described above.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify you as required by law.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date.
